Making and using a Rain Barrel
With our recent drought and efforts to conserve water, rain barrels should become an important addition to our gardening routine. Rain barrels will be discussed including why and how. Making your own rain barrel will be reviewed.

Mary Lerssen is an SDSU Extension Master Gardener and has gardened her whole life. Initially, her grandfather taught her many of his gardening skills and tricks. After she retired from a nursing career, she took the master gardener class. She continues to provide tender loving care to her garden and flowers. She has supervised the community gardens, presented at the public education sessions, hosted garden tours, provided five pick up loads of plants for the plant sale, etc.
